Chorvereinigung Schola Cantorum
Chorvereinigung Schola CantorumFounded in 1978 by Wolfgang Bruneder, the initial interest of the choir was primarily the music of the renaissance. Subsequently, the choir quickly established itself in the Austrian music scene as an amateur choir of the highest quality and an extensive repertoire. The programme encompassed a cappella works from the 16th to 20th centuries, church music, oratories, symphonies, spirituals and folk songs. A particular area of interest is contemporary Austrian choir music. The original ensemble has grown to some 60 members in the meantime. The choir displays its skills in numerous performances, both nationally and internationally, as well as by means of participation in international competitions. Wolfgang Bruneder, professor for music at the Viennese Academy of Music, has conducted the Schola Cantorum since its formation.
