Born 1943 in Wels, Upper Austria. Initial training on the organ under Hedwig Ebermann and composition under Augustinus Franz Kropfreiter. He studied at the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg. Organ and composition under Josef Friedrich Doppelbauer, piano under Hedaliese von Haupt-Stummer, cello under Georg Weigl.
