Folk music and classical music
The charming link between folk music and pop music has famous “roots” in Bad Goisern by Wilfried Scheutz and Hubert von Goisern. Mozart too pepped up many melodies of local folk music with classic elements. This concert traces Mozart’s tracks of popular folk music through to the picturesque rococo. Peter Brugger plays the piano sonatas K 331 (“Alla Turca”) and 547 as well as, along with Christian Kapun, an adaptation of the clarinet quintet K 581. The legendary Goiserer Viergesang with Lois Neuper replies with dreamy, romantic yodels, which are reflected in Mozart’s music.
